Monica Wegling_06_Tante Martha

When I was a kid, I didn’t want to be a kid but an adult. Being a child and socializing with other children was so boring. And I didn’t like the fact that so called grown-ups like my mummy had the right to make decisions for me. I Monica wanted to decide when to go to bed, when to get up in the morning and if it was necessary to do my homework. I hoped for a miracle – to wake up one morning as a full-grown human being.

As a kid I most likely took a lot of space, being too precocious, too neat for my age. I was probably a bit of a pain in the neck. At the same time I was very shy and cautious. My mummy had to bribe me with sweets to get me to the playground. I sat there silently in a corner eating my Smurf toffees. When I had eaten them up, I rushed home again, to my beloved mummy.
